Welcome to my blog, a personal investment. This blog IS about personal investing, but not the kind you might think of initially. a personal investment is about two things: 1) the world of non-profit and 2) my career in non-profit.
The World of Non-Profit:
I will share interesting information related to philanthropy, social issues, and volunteerism. You can expect to see Requests for Proposals, articles, and news. Some say business isn’t personal, but in philanthropy and non-profit the best business is personal, I say. My commitment to non-profit work directly correlates with issues I am passionate about so, for me, it is a very personal investment.
My Career in Non-Profit:
I will also periodically talk about my career trajectory and progress. I am a traveling fundraising consultant and work with non-profits all across the country. In school I studied communications and, as a some-what-recent graduate, I’ve been navigating the testy waters young professionalism. I’m just beginning to get my sea legs. I think it’s wise to take responsibility and an active interest in your career path. Be proactive. Seek opportunity. Personally invest in yourself and your future. That is what I hope to do.
